Steve Zuckerman is a director best known for his work in theater and television. He formerly served as the Associate Artistic Director of the Impossible Ragtime Theater, the Director of Play Development at the Circle in the Square Theatre, and as the Associate Director of the WPA Theatre. His Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway directing credits include: CLASH BY NIGHT (1978), NUTS (1979), THE FREAK (1982), WHEN WE DEAD AWAKEN (1982), VIEUX CARRE (1983), THE INCREDIBLY FAMOUS WILLIE RIVERS (1984), TODAY, I AM A FOUNTAIN PEN (1986), A ROSEN BY ANY OTHER NAME (1986), THE CHOPIN PLAYOFFS (1986), NORTH SHORE FISH (1987), TEN BELOW (1993), and UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS (1994).
Steve Zuckerman was born in the Bronx, New York, and grew up in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. He attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and the Yale School of Drama as a graduate student. He now resides in Los Angeles, where he has directed over 400 episodes of primetime television, including episodes of “Empty Nest,” “The Golden Girls,” “Friends,” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” He continues to direct theater in Los Angeles, and recent productions include Everybody Say Cheese at the Falcon Theatre and Influence and Open House at the Skylight Theater.
Darlene Kaplan is a producer and theatrical artist manager. She began her career as the Literary Executive and Casting Director at the WPA Theatre. During her time there, she developed and cast over thirty plays, including: NUTS (1979), ALBUM (1980), KEY EXCHANGE (1981), THE FREAK (1982), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1982),VIEUX CAREE (1983), THE INCREDIBLY FAMOUS WILLIE RIVERS (1984), CRUISE CONTROL (1985), OUT OF GAS ON LOVERS LEAP (1985), NORTH SHORE FISH (1987) and STEEL MAGNOLIAS (1987).
Darlene Kaplan grew up in Riverdale, New York, and attended Yale University as an undergraduate. She later moved to Los Angeles, where she spent three years on staff at Universal Television, casting projects such as “Columbo” and the pilot for “Law & Order.” She then became an independent casting director for film and television projects. She is now a theatrical manager, and her clients have worked in features, television, Broadway and Off-Broadway.
