Jennifer von Mayrhauser is a costume designer who has worked extensively in theater, television, and film. She designed over thirty shows as the resident costume designer for Circle Repertory Theatre, and has worked with numerous other Off-Broadway theater companies such as Lincoln Center Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, Playwrights Horizons, and Second Stage Theatre. Her Off-Broadway credits include:  BATTLE OF ANGELS (1974), KNOCK KNOCK (1976), SERENADING LOUIE (1976), ASHES (1977), UNCOMMON WOMEN AND OTHERS(1977/1994), TALLEY’S FOLLY (1979), BEYOND THERAPY (1981), THE SEAGULL (1983), THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST (1984), THE BEACH HOUSE (1985), CALIGULA (1986), THE MOUND BUILDERS (1986), THE HEIDI CHRONICLES (1988), A CHEEVER EVENING (1994), KINDERTRANSPORT (1994), DON JUAN IN CHICAGO (1995), DARK RAPTURE (1996), THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON (1999), DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA (2004), SOME AMERICANS ABROAD (2008), DOMESTICATED (2013), RIPCORD (2015), DADA WOOF PAPA HOT (2015), PRODIGAL SON (2016), LINDA (2017) and 20TH CENTURY BLUES (2017). Jennifer von Mayrhauser was born in Ithaca, New York. She attended the Emma Willard School and received a theater degree from Northwestern University. She studied costume design at Lester Polakov’s  New York Studio and Forum of Stage Design, and early in her career assisted famed costume designers Santo Loquasto and Carrie Robbins. Her Broadway credits include: Knock Knock (1976), Da (1978), Talley’s Folly (1980), Beyond Therapy(1982), Angel Falls (1983), Baby (1984), Hay Fever (1985), Execution of Justice (1986), The Night of the Iguana(1988), The Heidi Chronicles (1989), Rabbit Hole (2006), Wit (2012), and Disgraced (2014). Her film credits include The Private Lives of Pippa LeeThe Ballad of Jack and Rose, I’m Not RappaportPassed AwayThe Hand that Rocks the CradleLean on Me, and Mystic Pizza. Her TV credits include “The Sinner,” “The Slap,” “Unforgettable,” “Under the Dome,” and “Law & Order,” for which she received an Emmy nomination. She was an adjunct professor of costume design at Brandeis University from 1991 to 2012. She is a member of the Tony Award Nominating Committee for the 2015-2018 Broadway seasons.
