Terry Schreiber is a director and teacher best known for founding the T. Schreiber Studio. His Off-Broadway directing and producing credits include: DOES ANYBODY HERE DO THE PEABODY? (1976), ALL THE WAY HOME (1976), CURTAINS (1977), FEEDLOT (1977), GLORIOUS MORNING (1978), and DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS (1984). The T. Schreiber Studio began in 1969 with Schreiber teaching twelve actors in a converted loft on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Studio garnered a reputation for high quality productions and performances as it added more faculty and students and became involved in the beginnings of the Off-Off-Broadway movement. Today, the T. Schreiber Studio is considered to be one of the premier acting studios in New York City. Each year, Schreiber mounts a season of Off-Off-Broadway productions featuring his students in the works of classic and contemporary playwrights.

Terry Schreiber was born in Winona, Minnesota, and graduated from St. Thomas University with a BA in English and Speech. He began his career acting in summer stock and regional theater productions before transitioning into directing and teaching. On Broadway he has directed The Trip Back Down (1977), Devour the Snow (1979), and K2(1983). He has directed at regional theaters around the country such as Syracuse Stage, the George Street Playhouse, and the Pittsburgh Public Theater. He served as Artistic Director of the Bradford Repertory Theatre in Vermont from 1972 to 1973. Internationally, he has directed numerous American plays in Japan and has taught at the French-American Cinema Theatre in Paris. He is featured in Eva Mekler’s The New Generation of Acting Teachersand has written two books himself entitled Acting: Advanced Technique for the Actor, Director, & Teacher and Producing on a Short Shoelace.
