Pine grew up in Midland, Texas and first got involved with acting in high school to avoid his speech class assignment: talking about himself. Following this class transfer and his roles in high school drama, he worked at the community theater in Midland, before bouncing around from college to college and ending up at New York University’s School of the Arts. While in his final year there, he met Andre Gregory and would go on to create, with other NYU graduates, the theater company The Manhattan Project. After lengthy periods of rehearsals, they premiered ALICE IN WONDERLAND to rave reviews.
