Albert Poland has had a career in theater spanning 50 years as an actor, producer, general manager, and press agent.  After one year of college, Poland moved to New York City.  In 1966, he was the press agent and producer for the American Conservatory Theater engagement at the Ravinia Festival.  At 24, he co-produced the national touring company of THE FANTASTICKS, which played 100 cities from 1966-68. He produced various Off-Broadway productions, including: NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN (1967), FUTZ! (1968), PEACE (1969), THE UNSEEN HAND/FORENSIC AND THE NAVIGATORS (1970), and ACROBATS/LINE (1971), and sponsored the San Francisco Mime Troupe presentation of THE DRAGON LADY’S REVENGE (1973). As General Manager, his Off-Broadway credits include: THE DIRTIEST SHOW IN TOWN (1970), A LIFE IN THE THEATER (1977), ONE MO’ TIME (1979), TOMFOOLERY, MARRY ME A LITTLE, and ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE (1981), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1982), A LIE OF THE MIND (1985), STEEL MAGNOLIAS (1987), and PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE (1995). He was presented with the Show Business Best Producer Award for PEACE in 1969. On Broadway, he was General Manager for:  As Is (1985), The Grapes of Wrath (1990), Long Day’s Journey into Night (2003), The Boy from Oz (2003), Glengarry Glen Ross (2005), and The Homecoming (2007).  He is the co-author and editor of “The Off- Off Broadway Book: The Plays, People, Theatre” (Bobbs-Merrill, 1973), which is used as a reference book in colleges and universities.
