As Artistic Director of Manhattan Theatre Club since 1972, Lynne Meadow has grown the company from the ground up, when its home was off-off-Broadway on East 73^rd Street. MTC now occupies three venues: the Friedman Theatre on Broadway, and two stages at New York City Center off Broadway. During her over-four-decade tenure, Meadow has accepted every major award on behalf of the company, including 48 Obies and 39 Drama Desk Awards, as well as numerous Tonys, Drama Critics Circle, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards. Six plays produced by MTC have received Pulitzer Prizes for Drama under her leadership. Meadow is a cum laude graduate of Bryn Mawr College and served on the Board of Trustees. She also attended the Yale School of Drama and was named a Herbert Brodkin Fellow. She has taught at a number of lauded university theatre programs including Yale, Fordham and NYU. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Mr. Abbott Award, Lucille Lortel and Lilly Award for Lifetime Achievement, Louis Auchincloss Prize, and is a 2013 Theatre Hall of Fame inductee.
