Bruce Hoover has worked as a Production Stage Manager and Production Manager both on and Off-Broadway. His Off-Broadway venues include the Astor Place Theatre, The Jack Lawrence Theater,  Lincoln Center Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club , The Phoenix Theater and, The Public Theater. Hoover’s Off-Broadway credits include: THE LOWER DEPTHS (1964), MAN AND SUPERMAN (1964), RIGHT IF YOU THINK YOU ARE (1964), SCAPIN (1964),THE TAVERN (1964), JUDITH (1965), WAR AND PEACE (1965), YOU CAN’T  TAKE IT WITH YOU (1965), CRIMES OF PASSION (1969), A BECKETT FESTIVAL (1972), ENEMIES (1972) THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (1973), THE PLOUGH AND THE STARS (1973), QUILTERS (1984), ASINAMALI! (1987), SARAFINA! (1987), ROMANCE IN HARD TIMES (1989), RABBIT HOLE (2006).

Hoover grew up in Riverside, California, where his early involvement as an actor with the Riverside Community Players inspired a love for all aspects of the theater. In college, he began working as a stage manager for several productions. He also served as one of the stage managers for the Globe Theatre in San Diego and later worked with them again after moving to New York City.  In 1963, Hoover became involved with the APA in their season in Ann Arbor, Michigan and later with their New York productions. Bruce has also stage managed  several Broadway productions including The Death of Bessie Smith (1968), Happy Days (1968), Krapp’s Last Tape (1968), Box/Quotations From  Mao Tse-Tung (1968), The Zoo Story (1968), The American Dream (1968), The Gingham Dog(1969), the revival of Harvey (1970), All Over  (1971), The Grass Harp (1971), The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window (1972), A Streetcar Named Desire (1973), The Lieutenant (1975), Cats (1991-97), City of Angels (1991), and  A Moon for the Misbegotten (2007). He also produced CRIMES OF PASSION (1969) at the Astor Place Theatre.
