Marilyn Chris is an actress and director born in Brooklyn, New York.  She worked with many theater companies including The Living Theatre, the Negro Ensemble Company, and the Jewish Repertory Theatre. With The Living Theatre from 1959-1963, she appeared in many of their productions. She was in THE GOOD SOLDIER SCHWEIK (1963), directed by Robert Kalfin at the beginning of the Chelsea Theater Center. Robert Kalfin also directed her in KADDISH (1972), for which she won an OBIE and a Drama Desk Award.  She also acted in THE YOUNG GIRL AND THE MONSOON (1997) at Playwrights Horizons. Chris is married to Lee Wallace, whom she met while they were both in LAUGH A LITTLE, CRY A LITTLE in 1974; the two of them have worked often with the Jewish Repertory Theatre in productions such as TAKING STOCK (1990) and GOD OF VENGEANCE (1992). 

Marilyn Chris also starred for many years on ABC’s “One Life to Live,” playing the character Wanda Wolek. Chris also played the role of Edie Hoffman on ABC’s “All My Children.” Her credits in film include: Love with the Proper Stranger (1963), The People Next Door (1970), The Honeymoon Killers (1970), The Black Marble (1980), and Trees Lounge (1996).
