Everett Quinton started his acting career with the Ridiculous Theatrical Company, which was founded by Charles Ludlam. He performed in many of the company’s Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions, including: THE ENCHANTED PIG (1979), A TALE OF TWO CITIES (1988), DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1989), DER RING GOTT FARBLONJET (1990), CAMILLE (1990), MOVIELAND (1994), and THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP (1998). In 1987, after Ludlam passed away, Quinton became the Artistic Director of the Ridiculous Theatrical Company. While in this position, he directed many shows, such as: DER RING GOTT FARBLONJET, CAMILLE, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1991), BLUEBEARD (1991), CARMEN (1994), and THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP (1998 & 2014). He was also the playwright of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, CARMEN, MOVIELAND, and LINDA (1993). His most recent Off-Broadway acting credit is THE WITCH OF EDMONTON (2011), produced by Red Bull Theater.

Quinton was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Being a “queer kid,” he always felt out of place. He found a passion and a home in the theatre scene. His first experience with Charles Ludlam was with the production CAPRICE (1976). Ludlam introduced CAPRICE by stating he was writing about a “gay hero,” which Quinton found inspiring. The Ridiculous Theatrical Company mainly performed plays that were written by Ludlam. When Quinton became the Artistic Director, he decided to broaden its horizons by performing one-man shows and productions by other playwrights. His most recent acting credit was as “Ethelred” in the web series “The Louise Log.”
